Essex County is the home of a total of 6 covered bridges. Of this number, 2 are historic bridges, and 4 are non-traditional bridges.

All of the historic bridges cross the Connecticut River between Vermont and New Hampshire. These two bridges are actually owned by the State of New Hampshire
