The Town of Montgomery recently contracted with Jan Lewandowski to restore the Longley Bridge. The youngsters who come here for fishing and swimming quickly made adjustments to the new siding.
The bridge was unable to carry the required loads and was closed in November 2012: Historic Covered Bridge Committee Meeting - Longley Covered Bridge.
Our thanks to the Town of Montgomery for allowing the posting of the Vermont Covered Bridge Society Welcome patch. For more information about the Montgomery area visit their website at www.montgomeryvt.us.
