On July 22, 2000 the people of Tunbridge celebrated the opening of the new Mill Bridge. The original bridge, built in 1883, was lost during an ice jam sixteen months earlier. Earlier in the month the new bridge was pulled into place the old fashioned way with a team of oxen: Tunbridge's Mill Bridge Back in Place.
Bridge construction work was done by Neil Daniels Construction of Ascutney, Vermont.
