Coventry Covered Bridge and David Guay¹
I went to visit the Coventry bridge on 11/30/99, because I had heard that it was hoped to be completed sometime in mid-November. I was hoping to see the bridge completed or nearly completed when I arrived. As I came upon the bridge, I noticed that there were no barriers at the entrance. I watched a truck coming from the opposite direction approaching the bridge, and was very pleasantly surprised to see the truck proceed through the New Coventry CB. As he passed, I rolled down my window and asked when it was opened, he replied that it had opened only yesterday.
While I was at the bridge, many cars & trucks approached, and slowed down so that they could get a good look at the New bridge. They all seemed to be smiling when they came out of the bridge. What a nice feeling seeing all the local people checking out "their" New Coventry Covered Bridge, and all seemed to approve of it.
